Ronald S. Barrott
Chief Executive Officer
Ronald S. Barrott is Chief Executive Officer at ALDAR Properties. In this role, Ronald has overall responsibility for ALDAR which involves engineering and controlling the company's current growth in the UAE and future expansion into international markets. In addition, he overseas all projects development activities and related businesses of ALDAR.
Ronald is a building engineer by profession with over thirty eight years of experience in the construction and development industries. This includes eight years as a Managing Director and fourteen years as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman.
Three development companies were founded by Ronald under the Stannifer name: two property development companies in the UK, and one in the Czech Republic as well as one operational hotel group.
John Bullough
Chief Operating Officer
John Bullough is Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Aldar Properties PJSC. In this role John oversees all the operational aspects involved in running the company which include project planning, development delivery and many other areas within his extensive scope.
A Chartered Surveyor by profession he was previously Retail Director at Grosvenor in London and has over 30 years experience in the development and investment field.
John is leading the team in delivery of a very substantial development programme including a number of major residential and retail led mixed use projects. He has been responsible in the past for major developments in the UK including projects in Cambridge, Basingstoke, Preston, Liverpool and Dublin.
John is a past President of the British Council of Shopping Centres (BCSC) and a member of the BCSC Education & Research Committee and Urban Taskforce, he is a also member of the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC).
Abdalla Zamzam
Chief Economic and Administration Officer
As the Chief Economic and Administration Officer, Abdalla Zamzam oversees human resourcing. This involves every part of ALDAR’s operations and extends to clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Abdalla was educated in the United States of America where he earned his M.B.A. in Management, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and System Engineering.
Prior to joining ALDAR, Abdalla spent nineteen years working in the oil and gas industries in training, Development, Human Resoursces and Administration and as a Board Officer. He later went on to spend a year at the University of Sharjah as Director of Business Support and then four years as the Deputy Secretary General for The Environment Agency, Abu Dhabi. He joined ALDAR in August 2005 as the Human Resources and Administration Director.
Shafqat Malik
Chief Financial Officer
Shafqat Malik is Chief financial Officer at ALDAR. In this role, he is responsible for financing strategy of ALDAR and its subsidiaries. In addition, he is also responsible for business development and management of non-core operations including theme parks, golf courses, marinas, fund management, and joint ventures.
Shafqat has spent the last eight years in the property sector; four were spent as Finance Director at Mapeley. Prior to joining Mapeley, he held senior finance positions at Regus PLC and Lease Plan based in the United Kingdom.
Shaqat is a chartered certified accountant and corporate treasurer by profession with over ten years of senior financial expertise.
Richard Gray
Chief Legal Officer
Richard is the Chief Legal Officer of ALDAR Properties. In this role, Richard has responsibility for all the legal aspects of the company's operation which includes contracts and other documentation, compliance with laws and listing requirements and the company secretarial matters.
Richard also has responsibility for the Procurement and Document Control divisions of the company.
Richard is a lawyer by profession and was until recently, a Sydney partner of Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Australian lawyers, in the Property Construction and Environment team. He specialised in property development, funds management and structuring of property transactions in the commercial, retail, residential and resort sectors.
Mohammed Al Mubarak
Chief Commercial Officer
Mohamed Al Mubarak is the Chief Commercial Officer at Aldar responsible for the Sales & Leasing, Property & Asset Management, and Facilities Management units within the organization. In this role, Mohamed ensures that Sales & Leasing offerings are in line with the market requirements and conditions. Mohammed is also responsible for maximizing the value of Aldar assets through efficient asset management and life cycle planning.
Prior to Aldar, Mohamed worked for the Barclays Capital in London where he was part of a team responsible for establishing investments and financing in the MENA region.
Mohamed is a graduate of Northeastern University, with a double Major in Economics and Political Science.
Ousama Ghannoum
Marketing and Media Director
Ousama Ghannoum, Marketing and Media Director at ALDAR Properties, oversees all aspects of marketing and corporate communications of ALDAR. As the guardian of the ALDAR brand, Ousama takes great measures to entrench and integrate ALDAR’s messages utilizing all communication channels spreading brand recognition into the region as well as internationally.
Ousama directs his team in managing ALDAR's events, launches, advertising campaigns and other corporate communications marketing activities. He leads his department in ensuring that ALDAR’s marketing communications matrix functions at an optimum level. Having received acclaim for its recent Hoyamal campaign, ALDAR has reached a new height in involving and inspiring its audience with a highly successful delivery on its brand platform.
With more than 20 years in the Marketing and Media field, Ousama was previously the General Manager of World Trade Center Abu Dhabi, which was under the UAE Offsets Group. Before his position in Abu Dhabi he was the General Manager of World Trade Center Amman in Jordan. He serves as a board member with the World Trade Centers Association in New York.
Receiving both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the USA, Ousama holds a Bachelor from Purdue University, and an MBA from Notre Dame College.
Paul Bell
Managing Director of Aldar Hotels and Hospitality
Paul is the Managing Director of Aldar Hotels and Hospitality llc which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aldar Properties PJSC and is responsible for overseeing the development and ongoing management of all hotel and branded accommodation assets on Aldar developments. Aldar Hotels and Hospitality identifies opportunities both within Aldar developments and elsewhere, determines best fit brands and business models and then manages or asset manages the resultant businesses.
Immediately prior to his current position Paul was Vice President of Business Development EMEA for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and has held a number of roles of increasing responsibility and seniority in 2 spells with IHG. In the late 1990’s Paul led the development of Stannifer (subsequently Somerston’s) hotel businesses in the UK and served as Managing Director from 2000 to 2004.
Paul has considerable hotel, leisure and F&B brand, development and management experience gained within UK and EMEA operational and development roles with leading global brand owners and has been involved in the commissioning and launch of a number of products, services and brands into new markets. He is a past Finance Director and an Executive Board Member of the British Franchise Association.
Talal Al Dhiyebi
Deputy Director of Planning & Infrastructure
Talal is the Deputy Director of Planning & Infrastructure at Aldar. In this role Talal oversees 3 main functions: Planning & Infrastructure, Integrated Technologies & Transportation.
The departments were created to provide key support to the project teams and to maintain strategic relationships with the relevant government authorities and agencies such as the Urban Planning Council, ADWEA, Abu Dhabi Municipality and Department of Transport.
Talal is a graduate of the University of Melbourne in Australia with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (Honours).
