Sami Asad became Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Aldar Properties PJSC in January 2009. In this role, Sami leads the delivery of a very substantial development programme including a number of major residential and retail and leisure led mixed use projects.

Sami has been acting COO since October 2008, having originally joined Aldar as Technical Director in September 2008. A mechanical engineer by profession, Sami has over 35 years experience in the oil and gas industry. Previously he was Deputy Vice President of Projects at Dolphin Energy for 5 years and before that occupied various managerial positions at ADNOC.
