The Metamorphosis

The Metamorphosis mural on the side of Yas Island’s Park Inn Hotel is the work of INO, a figurative artist from Athens. The design features butterflies flying from a hand - symbol of freedom and hope.

The Children Of Abu Dhabi (Al Raha Substation)

The pink walls of the substation at Al Raha were formerly blank canvases ripe for decoration. In 2017, British artists Hicks, Switch and Slam were commissioned to create a realistic mural featuring the children of Abu Dhabi in all their diversity.

In 2019, Aldar Properties and Abu Dhabi Art selected artists Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim and the artist collective of Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh, and Hesam Rahmanian to create unique artworks for Reem Central Park in Abu Dhabi.

The Tree (Yas Mall)

Situated in the East and West Cultural Courts, the 12-metre-tall steel trees are based on the idea of the local ghaf tree, but are more stylised and, instead of leaves, they have parts of the Arabic alphabet carved into the branches.

The Capital Through a Fresh Lens 


In collaboration with Greek visual artist Chronis Spanos, Aldar presents ‘Maraya’, meaning ‘Mirrors’ in Arabic, a photographic series that transforms Aldar’s architectural landmarks into striking pieces of abstract art that beautifully contrasts modernity with tradition.

Art Space in Abu Dhabi

Art Space

Art Space was a dynamic partnership, active during 2020-21, between the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi (DCT) and Aldar Properties is designed to invigorate Abu Dhabi’s art scene by offering local artists premier exhibition spaces to showcase their art.

Arabic Calligraphy

Words of Art

To commemorate the UAE’s 45th National Day, we initiated a calligraphy competition, inspired by a collaborative poem with poet Hassan Al Obaidly, composer Mousa Mohammad and singer Aida Al Menhali. This competition invited creatives to submit a design from which the top ten finalists had their works displayed at Yas Mall.
