- Milestone signals the world-class health and safety standards of Aldar’s hotels for UAE residents and international tourists
- Aldar voluntarily extending scheme to golf courses and malls for maximum impact
Abu Dhabi - UAE, 19 August 2020: Aldar Properties has become the first company in Abu Dhabi to have its entire portfolio of hotels endorsed as compliant with the Department of Culture and Tourism’s ‘Go Safe’ certification programme.
With each of its 9 hotels complying with the scheme’s 361 protocols, Aldar has achieved a significant milestone that signals both the world-class health and safety standards of its venues, as well as their enhanced readiness to welcome residents and tourists.
Commenting on the achievement, Jassem Saleh Busaibe, Chief Investment Officer at Aldar Properties said: “The Abu Dhabi Government has always put the wellbeing of the Emirate’s residents and tourists at the heart of its policies, and the Go Safe programme is yet another best-in-class example of this. With all of Aldar’s hotels now certified as Go Safe-compliant, our guests can enjoy their stay with the utmost peace of mind and rest assured that their preferred venue abides by the highest standards of health and safety. We look forward to welcoming many more guests to our hotels over the months to come and would like to thank the Department of Culture and Tourism for their invaluable support.
While Go Safe currently focuses specifically on hotels and tourist attractions, Aldar considers the scheme to be a best practice reference point for consumer wellbeing and is actively implementing the programme’s protocols across its extensive leisure, retail and property portfolio wherever possible. Aldar’s world-class golf courses, including Yas Links and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, have applied 90% of the Go Safe protocols to their operations, while the company’s malls are aiming to adhere to 92%.
Developed by the Abu Dhabi Department for Culture and Tourism, Go Safe is a voluntary programme designed to ensure that the health and safety standards of hotels and tourist attractions are specially adapted in light of the ongoing global pandemic. The certification scheme features 361 protocols that cover everything from hotel preparedness to the overall customer experience and operations. All measures are revised and updated on an ongoing basis to ensure continued adherence with global best practice.
