Dhabi’s vision of Art
We are committed to sharing art in the community and collaborate with artists from all over the world to create murals and artworks to be enjoyed by everyone, every day. We also bring artistic flair to our development designs, creating iconic landmarks and attractive communities.
Al Raha Mural
The impressive 600-metre artwork skirting the main road into Abu Dhabi welcomes visitors and residents with an expression of culture, tradition, and true spirit of the United Arab Emirates. Completed in just five weeks, the Al Raha mural was one of the first pieces of art to be showcased across our developments.
Al Raha Substation
The pink walls of the substation at Al Raha were formerly blank canvases ripe for decoration. In 2017, British artists Hicks, Switch and Slam were commissioned to create a realistic mural featuring the children of Abu Dhabi in all their diversity. The brief asked for the children to interact with the building, which is why you’ll see a little girl peering around the corner, a little boy climbing up the wall and another drawing on the wall.
Reem Central Park
A number of local artists were commissioned to brighten up the surfaces of the 1m sq ft Reem Central Park with a series of murals that have transformed the area. Artists took inspiration from several sources, including pre-Islamic poetry, Arabic folklore, collections at the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Etihad Museum and the diversity of the park’s visitors.
Kobe Bryant Mural
Following the tragic passing of NBA star Kobe Bryant in 2020, the world has seen an outpouring of emotional tributes and testimonials. An example of this sentiment has been painted along the courtside walls of Reem Central Park with one of Kobe’s most poignant quotes: “Heroes come and go but legends are forever.”
The Capital Through a Fresh Lens
Greek visual artist Chronis Spanos collaborated with Aldar for photographic series 'Maraya'. Meaning 'Mirrors' in Arabic, Maraya transforms the architectural axes and angles of Aldar’s master developments into unique pieces of abstract art. Pieces that juxtapose modernity and tradition.
